Evans Staff
As parents, we look for educators who not only value knowledge, but have the wisdom and experience to know that along with knowledge, children need a foundation broader and deeper than what book learning can provide. We have come to Evans for more than just the fine, rigorous academic curriculum. We have come for the foundation, for the partnership The Evans School provides our families.
An Evans Parent
Our classroom size remains small by design, allowing accommodation for various learning styles. Our small teacher to student ratio maximizes participation, and provides a rich and engaging learning environment in every subject.
We students who make up the Evans community will always remain unselfish and kind to all, thanks to the excellent examples set by our caring and encouraging teachers.
An Evans Student
Experienced and qualified teachers have specialized training beyond their credentials, many in their individual subjects, such as science, foreign languages, art, music, drama, and sports. Teachers are selected not only for their academic strength, but for their love of children, enthusiasm for teaching, and a sincere desire to foster the development of good and lasting character.
At Evans we are adept at skillfully combining the old with the “new.”
Though firmly rooted in the academic methods that have proven successful, best practices and curricula are continually being evaluated and updated. New methods of instruction are frequently explored, but must be proven successful before they are adopted at Evans. Teachers are given support to enrich and expand the core curriculum in numerous ways. Curriculum continues to be evaluated during the summer, utilizing standardized test scores, class subject exams, and feedback from recent graduates.
